WE ALSO PROVIDE SPECIALIST PROCEDURES TO ASSIST IN DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT OR MANAGEMENT OF SPECIFIC CONDITIONS. SOME OF THESE ARE DESCRIBED BELOW:
3D retinal photography (OCT)
3D retinal analysis is performed by our Ocular Coherence Tomographer. Previously only used by eye surgeons, this technology represents the most advanced ability to analyse an eye for conditions such as macula degeneration and glaucoma. This instrument can be used to allow early detection of these conditions. It is also used to compare the extent or risk of these conditions over time.
Red Eye Treatment and metal fragment removal.
The slit lamp and diagnostic dyes are used to determine the cause and effective treatment of any red eye. Our optometrists are qualified to prescribe eye drops to treat the underlying causes of red eye, including conjunctivitis, inflammatory eye conditions and imbedded metal fragments.
Dry Eye Clinic.
The Graham Hill Eyecare dry eye clinic can identify the underlying cause of dry/ irritable and weepy eyes. After assessment and diagnosis, treatment programmes may include eyedrops, eye lid cleansing or gland heating treatment to improve tear production and eye comfort.
Short Sightedness Treatment.
Ortho-Keratology is a contact lens treatment for myopia (short sightedness) and low degrees of astigmatism. It involves wearing a rigid contact lens worn at night to re-shape the cornea so that glasses and contact lenses are not required during the day. Ortho-Keratology is adaptable to changing prescriptions and research shows this to be the most effective method of keeping short sighted progression at bay.
