Graham Hill eyecare can utilise a corneal topographer (see our advanced technology) to fit rigid contact lenses. Rigid contact lenses (and mini scleral contact lenses) are used for particular eye conditions that cannot be adequately treated with regular soft contact lenses. Examples of where rigid contact lenses would be used include very high levels of short-sightedness, long sightedness or astigmatism. Keratoconus is another common condition most suitably corrected with rigid contact lenses. Our optometrsits are experienced and comfortable in advising on the appropriate use of these lenses.
In recent years, Ortho-K has also become a common situation where rigid contact lens fitting is required to slow down short sightedness progression (see myopia control and ortho-K).
