Our practice is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to ensure we’re offering the very best service, detecting eye conditions as early as possible and making the most accurate diagnosis and assessment of your vision. This technology includes:
3D Retinal Photography (OCT)
Previously used only by eye surgeons, our Ocular Coherence Tomographer (OCT) will perform a 3D retinal analysis to assess the eye for conditions such as macular degeneration and glaucoma. This instrument will allow us to detect these conditions early as well as compare the extent or risk of these over time.
Optos Wide Angle Photography
Our state-of-the-art OPTOS camera gives us an incredible retinal image 200° wide, compared to just 45° in outdated standard retinal cameras. This allows us to detect eye conditions such as diabetic eye disease, retinal detachment and retinal melanoma as early as possible. Additionally, by providing such a premium quality image we can use this to compare and assess for changes to your eyes at subsequent visits.
Corneal Topography
This equipment is essential for orthokeratology treatment, and assessment of eye conditions such as astigmatism and keratoconus.
Axial length measurement
Axial length measurement is an important and specialised device to measure the length of an eyeball and therefore the success of treatment to limit the progression of short-sightendness (myopia control).
K5 Meibographer
Our K5 meibographer is the leading diagnostic device used by dry eye specialists to determine the severity of dry eye disease by measuring tear gland health and tear layer stability. This to allow your optometrist to develop a tailored assessment and management plan for those with dry eye syndrome.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment for advanced dry eyeIPL has been recognised in recent years as the gold standard in advanced evaporative dry eye. The IPL device uses short duration, high energy light to improve gland health and reduce eyelid inflammation, which can create a longer term and more successful treatment for dry eye syndrome.
